Internet Services is pleased to offer
SDSL high-speed Internet access to Wyoming. We are the only locally
owned Internet company providing DSL to the Wyoming market. Currently,
our service area is limited to parts of Cheyenne, Casper, and Laramie;
due to limitations with the existing infrastructure. We look forward
to serving these communities, and all of Wyoming, as soon as the
necessary infrastructure is in place.
What is
SDSL?
Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) service provides end
users with upstream and downstream speeds as fast as 1.5 Mbps, up
to 45 times faster than a 28.8 Kbps dial-up modem. Asymmetrical
Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) from the phone companies provides
slower speeds upstream than downstream. Sending Email with a large
attachment can be difficult on ADSL. SDSL, on the other hand, provides
plenty of upstream speed to meet the bandwidth needs of most common
business applications.
DSL
is not a guaranteed or monitored service, so for mission-critical
applications, please review our frame relay
connectivity offerings.
What will
you need?
You’ll need an Ethernet network card in your computer or an existing
Ethernet network hub, (most business computers connected to a network
will already have a network card). You’ll also need a DSL modem
and a small plug-in line filter for your phone jack. The modem will
be provided by us.
